Common instruments include graphite pencils, pen and ink, inked brushes, wax color pencils, crayons, charcoals, chalk, pastels, markers, stylus, or various metals like silverpoint. An artist who practices or works in drawing may be referred to as a draftsman or draughtsman. A small amount of material is released onto the two dimensional medium which leaves a visible markāthe process is similar to that of painting. The most common support for drawing is paper, although other materials such as cardboard, plastic, leather, canvas and board, may be used. Temporary drawings may be made on a blackboard or whiteboard, or indeed almost anything. Depending on how soon you need it, it would probably be a lot faster to just get someone who is already good at drawing to draw it for you. Otherwise, just make lots of sketches of what you want it to look like, and slowly refine them with tracing paper,etc until you get something great. then trace it in reverse with carbon paper and outline the result with ink. That's the generally accepted way to create a precise, finished-looking graphic design with nothing but "crummy sketch ability". Try a Palomino pencil in the 2B - 2H range for sketching. Harder graphite will provide lighter colors while softer ones darker, this is due to the actual amount of graphite in the mixture.
