A. Technology is not bad. It's how we use it and whether we consider all the consequences before we put it in place. We have not done that in the past. We can't do things that way anymore. Technology is what we will use to solve the problems that our misuse of it has brought about. At the same time, we have to realize that sometimes simple technology is the answer. For example, here's a company doing something to save fuel for ocean freighters. It is really low tech, and it works. and an American company doing the same thing. These are parasails for ships. The cost of retrofitting a ship is dirt cheap. About the cost of leasing a large cape size bulk carrier ship for 2 days. Plug in Partners is an advocacy group for plug… [cont.]

How is technology dependent on science and how are science and technology different from one another?
Q. The discover of radium and it's qualities was science in action. Using radium to develop an x ray machine was technology.
Asked by PHILLY N - Mon Jan 14 21:25:14 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. well if you think about it, technology makes experiments easy to be tested. You don't really want to wait all day to prove that your hypotheses was right, so technology really helps science. If your trying to prove something or test something, technology makes you life way easier. They're different because technology deals with making life easier and then there's the technical stuff about machinery and ya da ya da. Technology deals with more broader scale than science, it's like more hands on. Technology is cool too. While science is much cooler, Science is been around than technology. But anyway, science deals with everything, from testing an experiment to finding a cure for a disease. Science deals with explanations and experiments.

How to compile a report recommending videoconferencing technology?
Q. I'm trying to compile a report to recommend my company's senior management to invest in videoconferencing technology. How does genetics contrbute to other areas of technology?
Q. Like how did /does genetics play a role in the improvement or devopment of technology. I need an answer to how genetics helps technology not technology helping genteics.
Asked by BubblyBubbles - Sat Jan 5 22:46:22 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Though they look different, many genetics problems are also long standing problems in mathematics. Many of the solutions that have been developed for genetics problems have been quickly adapted to solve problems in other fields as well. It is even possible that more engineering problems have been solved by geneticists than genetics problems solved by engineers. "Genetic algorithms" - an algorithm technique inspired by how organism populations evolve, is now used to solve many other problems, such as risk and threat assessment, scheduling problems, timetables, route planning, etc.

A. There's no way of knowing! You are assuming things will improve...I'm not sure. I'm not talking global warming, I'm talking population, religion/social ideals...more social stuff. Society hasn't always moved forward. Civilizations rise and fall and the technology with it. Roman Empire's idea of public sewers didn't reappear for many centuries later. But to answer: We will have to have new energy sources unless the new technology is first doing more with less energy. There are not enough raw materiasl around to supply the world. Old landfills will be mined for material. We will use items, then discard them and have them converted into some substance that is used to make new material. Landfills will be obsolete. .

What if our technology got so great that we could control what happens after death?
Q. Wouldnt it be cool if technology got so great we could control what happens to you after death? Im talking 1000 years in the future. There wouldnt be any fear of hell or any of that. You wouldnt need to believe in a god. What you do in this life would affect what happens after you die. I think that would be awesome.

A. No, this isnt stupid at all. IDIOT for saying that. your clearly dont understand "the way things work." is that idea stupid because its impossible by todays technologies? way is the way it is now "the right way?" you really believe 1,000 years wont be so different from now its not unrecognizable? the movement is real for technologies that achieve immortality, people say "its not natural" blah blah blah without spending ANY time thinking about that and what it really means
